Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has advised the club to sign Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana this summer.
The Red Devils are likely to go on a spending spree at the end of the season and a new defensive midfielder is among their targets.
Fichajes claim that Ten Hag is keen to find a replacement for Casemiro and he has urged the hierarchy to look into a move for Fofana.
Fofana came close to joining Nottingham Forest last summer. A fee was agreed, but the midfielder was not keen on the switch.
He preferred to continue with Monaco but it is widely expected that he will pursue a bigger challenge at the end of the campaign.
Fofana has a similar profile as Casemiro. He is one of the best holding midfielders in Ligue 1 and has excelled with his recoveries.
However, he is also prone to losing possession and passing is not his strength. Hence, he won’t be an upgrade on Casemiro.
