Liverpool are the most decorated club in English history with six European Cups to their name. The Anfield club have also won 19 league titles and they are in contention to tie with Manchester United on 20 this season with Jürgen Klopp aiming for the dream send-off. The German famously ended a 30-year drought by winning the Premier League in 2020. Since the formation of the English Premier League in 1992, Liverpool have amassed the third most points in the competition with 2,247. The Reds have consistently been one of the top performing sides – especially during Klopp’s near nine-year tenure – but they’ve faced some famous foes over the last two decades. Of clubs that’ve had more than ten meetings against Liverpool in the history of the Premier League, Manchester United have the best record and one of their former strikers has scored the most goals against the Reds in the competition. We’ve crunched the numbers and analysed the most feared players of Liverpool in the Premier League.

Who has scored the most goals against Liverpool in Premier League history?

Andy Cole has scored the most goals against Liverpool in the Premier League with 11 – the only player to have registered double figures. The former England striker is one of the most underrated strikers in the history of the competition and he thrived in the big games. Cole’s 11 goals against Liverpool across his spells at Newcastle United and Manchester United included a famous hat-trick for the Magpies in 1993.

Harry Kane ranks second in the list with nine goals against Liverpool for Tottenham Hotspur. The England captain was on course to eclipse Cole’s record before departing for Bayern Munich in the summer but he could eclipse it if he returns to England in the future. Thierry Henry caused Liverpool severe problems over the years, especially Jamie Carragher, and the Arsenal legend is tied-third with eight goals alongside Jamie Vardy. The Leicester City striked enjoyed a brilliant record against the big six. Seven players have scored seven times against Liverpool including Wayne Rooney, Alan Shearer and, surprisingly, Jonathan Walters. Heung-min Son and Leandro Trossard are the only two stars still playing of the six players with six goals against the Reds. The Tottenham captain and Arsenal winger will be aiming to add to their goals against Liverpool to climb up this list.
