Which Premier League clubs have been worst hit by injuries this season?
Top of the list in first place is Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea. The Blues bloated squad has been plagued by injuries this season, with several key players missing large spells. In total, 309 Premier League games have been missed. Roméo Lavia has played just 32 Premier League minutes following his €62.1m signing from Southampton, whilst Christopher Nkunku has managed just eight league games, and Wesley Fofana hasn’t played a single minute. In total, Chelsea have had 54 separate injury cases this season.
In second is Newcastle, whose injury woes were there for all to see as they slumped to a terrible run of form half way through the season, largely due to a depleted squad. In total, 258 Premier League games have been missed through players being injured this term. The Magpies have had 38 separate injury cases. Following them in third spot with 255 league games missed is Brentford, who have had 21 separate injuries this campaign, but have had long term issues to key players like Bryan Mbeumo and Rico Henry.

In fourth is Manchester United. Erik ten Hag has repeatedly bemoaned his defensive injuries, and the Red Devils have been severely short at the back throughout the campaign. In total they have missed players for 233 Premier League games through injury, with 35 individual injury cases. Following them just behind, and completing the top five, is Liverpool in fifth with 221 Premier League games missed, and 34 separate injury cases.
At the other end of the scale, the luckiest team in the entire division when it comes to injuries this season has been West Ham. Remarkably they have only had 6 separate injury cases, and only missed players for 22 Premier League games in total. Wolves, who have of late had injury concerns are actually the second best-off team in the league, with just 33 Premier League games missed. Also notably low down on the list are Manchester City, with the Premier League favourites ranked 16th, with just 16 separate injury cases and 59 Premier League games missed through injury this term.
