Liverpool travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on Sunday in the biggest Premier League game of the season so far. It’s the fiercest rivalry in English football with just 31 miles separating the two north west giants. Liverpool (19) and Man United (20) have 39 English top-flight titles between them but Manchester City have become the dominant force in the Premier League.

Liverpool have enjoyed an encouraging start under Arne Slot, winning their opening two league games, since the Dutch boss replaced Jürgen Klopp. Mohamaed Salah has scored in both games and Old Trafford has been a happy hunting ground for the Egyptian attacker. Salah’s goal in the 2-2 draw in April away to Man United was his sixth at Old Trafford in the Premier League, which is a record for an opposition – overtaking former Liverpool Steven Gerrard. Furthermore, Salah has scored more goals against Man United than any other club in his career, so let’s take a closer look at Salah’s favourite opponents.

Which clubs Mohamed Salah has scored the most goals against?

Salah has scored 14 goals against Man United across his career, including a double in Liverpool’s famous 7-0 win at Anfield. The 32-year-old also became the first opposition player to score a hat-trick at Old Trafford in the Premier League in Liverpool’s 5-0 win in October 2021. As the graphic below illustrates, Salah is the epitome of a big game player and he’s thrived against the biggest clubs in the Premier League.

The Egyptian has scored his second most career goals against Tottenham Hotspur with 12 in 15 games. Liverpool have battled against Man City for the biggest honours during Salah’s tenure at Anfield and he’s netted 11 goals in 21 games against the current champions. West Ham (11) and Arsenal (10) complete the top five with Salah’s best goal ratio arriving against Leeds United with an incredible nine goals in just six games against the Yorkshire side.
