The January transfer window is now little more than a distant memory in European football and as such clubs across the continent are already making plans for the summer window. Teams are working tirelessly behind the scenes on identifying targets and figuring out their budgets.
Managers will be constantly assessing their squads with sporting directors and recruitment staff scanning the market for potential deals. A plethora of players will become available in the summer where clubs famously have more money to spend and aren’t as restricted by financial fair play rules. The rumour mill is beginning to pick up pace and we’ve collated some of the biggest current transfer stories.
Today’s biggest transfer stories
Chelsea could allow Enzo Fernandez to depart Stamford Bridge this summer with Real Madrid interested. The Argentinian international would be keen on a move to Madrid and Chelsea retain an interest in Aurelien Tchouameni.
But one player that won’t be moving to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer is William Saliba. Real Madrid are reportedly willing to pay a world-record fee for a centre-back to sign the Arsenal star but Saliba wants to win trophies in North London.
Arsenal, however, maintain an interest in Ayyoub Bouaddi after his standout displays for Lille this season. The 17-year-old is also being monitored by Liverpool and PSG with his departed from the French club expected this summer. Meanwhile, Liverpool have identified Milos Kerkez as their main target to replace Andy Robertson in the summer.
