Transfermarkt recently released their market value updates for all the major leagues around the world – with just the MLS remaining. Thousands of players across the globe had their valuations upgraded and downgraded based on their form over the last few months. Transfermarkt’s market values are famed and have been cited by some of the biggest football clubs on the planet and regularly by media organisations across every content.
The March updates are the last of the league season for all major European divisions. The spotlight often lands on the top five leagues – Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga – as they feature the most valuable players. As the final market values of the 2024/25 season have been released for these leagues, we can now calculate which clubs’ squads have lost the most market value across the current campaign – you can view which clubs gained the most value here!
Which clubs lost the most market value across the 2024/25 season?
Bayern Munich’s squad has lost the most market value from any club in the top five leagues this season. The German giant’s valuation has dropped by €195m to €859m, with Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sané amongst the high-profile players to receive downgrades this season. Three Premier League clubs feature in the top five with Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United receiving significant downgrades.
Chelsea dropped by €183m with Reece James, Christopher Nkunku and Mykhaylo Mudryk all dropping in value. Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish dropped by €25m. While Kevin De Bruyne fell by €23m. Matthijs De Ligt has received the biggest downgrade at Manchester United of €25m, with Rasmus Højlund falling by €20m. Napoli complete the top five despite vying for the Serie A title while European giants Real Madrid, AC Milan and Arsenal all feature in the top ten.
