The transfer window opened on June 1 and clubs are already working tirelessly to get deals over the line. When it comes to exciting scenarios in football, not much beats a club signing a talented youngster, and their could plenty of young stars on the move this summer. With this in mind, here at Transfermarkt, we have picked out 20 U21 players who could be moving clubs in the upcoming windows.

20 U21 players who could move clubs this summer

Jamie Gittens – Borussia Dortmund – 20 years old

The latest young talent on Borussia Dortmund’s conveyor belt is English winger Jamie Gittens, who has been linked with a summer move to a number of Premier League clubs, with Chelsea the current favourites for his signature.

Samu Aghehowa – Porto – 21 years old

Following last summer’s €20 million move from Atlético Madrid, Samu Aghehowa has scored 19 goals in Liga Portugal, and the Porto striker has been linked with Aston Villa, Chelsea and Newcastle this summer.

Kenan Yildiz – Juventus – 20 years old

With 12 Serie A goal contributions this season, Kenan Yildiz is a top talent, but could seek a move away from Turin this summer. Arsenal are reportedly very interested and looking to beat London rivals Chelsea to the signing of the talented Turkish forward. 

Arda Güler – Real Madrid – 20 years old

Another talented young Turkish player, Arda Güler has been somewhat starved of minutes at Spanish giants Real Madrid, and may seek regular first-team football elsewhere. He’s been linked with many clubs including Liverpool, but some reports suggest new manager Xabi Alonso is keen to keep the 20 year old.

Alejandro Garnacho – Manchester United – 20 years old

Widely expected to be a casualty, or a cash-in, of Manchester United’s looming rebuild this summer, Alejandro Garnacho was vocal about his discontent at being an omission from United’s Europa League final starting XI, and many clubs are said to be interested in bringing in the young Argentine, with reports suggesting the Red Devils are very keen to seal his departure.

Adam Wharton – Crystal Palace – 21 years old

FA Cup winner Adam Wharton is one of the brightest young talents in English football, and plenty of clubs will be showing interest in the intelligent Crystal Palace midfielder this summer. Premier League champions Liverpool are reported to be among the clubs considering a move.

Milos Kerkez – Bournemouth – 21 years old

Bournemouth’s marauding young left-back Milos Kerkez is reportedly very close to a move to Arne Slot’s Liverpool to provide competition with Andy Robertson. The young Hungarian has been one of the standout players in his position this season.

Ousmane Diomande – Sporting – 21 years old

Sporting’s athletic centre-half Ousmane Diomande has been linked with a move away from the Liga Portugal champions for sometime, and this summer his move may came. Reports suggest that Aston Villa, Chelsea and Arsenal could compete for the Ivorian.

Rodrigo Mora – Porto – 18 years old

Porto’s 18-year-old talent Rodrigo Mora is emerging as a potential future superstar. He managed to score 10 league goals this season, and has been linked with Manchester United, PSG and Real Madrid.

Hugo Larsson – Frankfurt – 20 years old

Reports suggest Tottenham have been chasing Frankfurt’s youthful midfielder Hugo Larsson for sometime, but the Bundesliga side are expected to demand a substantial fee to let him leave the club this summer.

Carlos Baleba – Brighton – 21 years old

Brighton have a real knack of developing young talent and selling them on for a significant profit. Holding midfielder Carlos Baleba could be the latest in line, with Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool all linked with a summer move for the Cameroonian.

Jorrel Hato – Ajax – 19 years old

Ajax’s young left-back, who is also capable of playing centre-half, Jorrel Hato is a top talent and has already been a regular for the Amsterdam club for some time. He’s been linked with both Liverpool and Chelsea and his versatility could be a key attraction for interested clubs.

Mathys Tel – Bayern Munich – 20 years old

Tottenham have a €50m buy-option for Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel following his loan spell in north London this season. However, reports suggest Spurs are unwilling to meet that fee but could renegotiate a cheaper deal, with Bayern reportedly keen to offload the young Frenchman this summer.

Santiago Castro – Bologna – 20 years old

Santiago Castro has been one of the brightest young strikers in Serie A this season, scoring eight league goals for Bologna. Reports suggest Champions League finalists Inter Milan are weighing up a move for the Argentine but could face competition. 

Nico Paz – Como – 20 years old

Nico Paz has been one of the star performers for Cesc Fábregas’ Como FC this season following his €6m move from Real Madrid last summer. However, Los Blancos reportedly look set to trigger a €8m buy-back clause for the 20 year old – either to integrate him into Alonso’s team or sell him on for a higher fee.

Franco Mastantuono – River Plate – 17 years old

One of the brightest talents in world football right now, River Plate 17-year-old Franco Mastantuono could just be a generational talent. Videos on social media have been circulating of his superb goals, including his incredible free-kick in the Super Clasico against Boca Juniors, and Europe’s top clubs are on red alert. Real Madrid and Man United are heavily interested, but right now it seems Champions League winners PSG are favourites to sign the teenager.

Cristhian Mosquera – Valencia – 20 years old

Young Valencia centre-back Christhian Mosquera has been one of the standout young defenders in LaLiga this season, and the Spaniard is reportedly a summer transfer target for both Liverpool and RB Leipzig.

Eliesse Ben Seghir – Monaco – 20 years old

Monaco starlet Eliesse Ben Seghir, nicknamed ‘the little prince, faces an uncertain future due to his fractured relationship with manager Adi Hütter. Monaco could look to move on the talented winger this summer with significant interest reported from Liverpool and Manchester City, while Bayern Munich are also known admirers.

Bilal El Khannouss – Leicester – 21 years old

Creative midfielder Bilal El Khannouss may have been relegated with Leicester this season, but significant interest form top clubs in the young Moroccan remains. Both Arsenal and Wolves have been linked, with German giants Bayern also said to be interested.

Antonio Nusa – RB Leipzig – 20 years old 

Norwegian winger Antonio Nusa was linked with a number of Premier League clubs last summer before deciding to go to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig. Despite only getting seven goal contributions in the league this season, there is more reported interest in the 20-year-old, with both Napoli and Chelsea rumoured to be considering a move.
