The summer transfer window is officially open with clubs now able to add new signings to their squad. The biggest clubs in European football and clubs across the continent are already making plans for next season. Teams are working tirelessly behind the scenes on identifying targets and figuring out their budgets.
Managers will be constantly assessing their squads with sporting directors and recruitment staff scanning the market for potential deals. A plethora of players will become available in the summer where clubs famously have more money to spend and aren’t as restricted by financial fair play rules. The rumour mill is beginning to pick up pace and we’ve collated some of the biggest current transfer stories.
Today’s biggest transfer stories
AC Milan and Napoli are exploring a deal to sign Darwin Núñez this summer. Liverpool will entertain offers for the 25-year-old as they look to reshape their attacking line. Nunez has struggled for regular minutes under Arne Slot and there’s also interest from Saudi Arabia.
Chelsea have opened talks to sign Malik Fofana from Lyon, according to reports in France. Last week, Enzo Maresca admitted that he wants to sign another winger and Fofana fits the bill. Nottingham Forest were also interested but Chelsea are leading the race.
Real Madrid continue to monitor Myles Lewis-Skelly’s contract situation at Arsenal but the North London club remain confident that the academy graduate will sign a new deal. Lewis-Skelly enjoyed an outstanding breakthrough season but his deal expires next summer.
