Latest transfer news: Arsenal agree Gyökeres fee as Galatasaray Osimhen talks continue

The summer transfer window is officially open with clubs now able to add new signings to their squad. The biggest clubs in European football and clubs across the continent are already making plans for next season. Teams are working tirelessly behind the scenes on identifying targets and figuring out their budgets.

Managers will be constantly assessing their squads with sporting directors and recruitment staff scanning the market for potential deals. A plethora of players will become available in the summer where clubs famously have more money to spend and aren’t as restricted by financial fair play rules. The rumour mill is beginning to pick up pace and we’ve collated some of the biggest current transfer stories. 

Today’s biggest transfer stories 

Arsenal have reportedly agreed an initial €63.5 million fee for Viktor Gyökeres, with €10m in potential add-ons. Mikel Arteta has been eager to add a new striker to his squad this summer and their on the verge of completing a deal for Gyökeres.

Talks are continuing between Galatasaray and Napoli to agree a financial package for Victor Osimhen. Gala’s offer is understood to be an initial €40m fee with two further instalments of €17.5m but Napoli want guarantees over payments. 

Aston Villa are interested in signing Samu Aghehowa from FC Porto this summer. The Spanish striker could be available this summer but his Porto have set his asking price at around €80m. There’s been speculation over Ollie Watkins’ future with Aghehowa a potential replacement.
