The Premier League is reaching its vital run-in stage. Every point becomes crucial. Managers will being doing their best to keep their players calm. Conveying the classic message: play the games not the occasion. But down the years, which bosses have shown the longevity of getting points week-in week-out, season after season in the English top-flight? Here at Transfermarkt, we have compiled a list of the 20 managers with the most overall Premier League points since the league was formed in the 1992/93 season. Some of the names may come as a surprise.
The managers with the most overall Premier League points
Leading the way is the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson. The Scotsman won 13 Premier League titles with Manchester United, and accumulated a whopping 1,752 points from his 809 games in charge in the competition. In second is Fergie’s old foe, Arsène Wenger – the Frenchman won the title three times with Arsenal, and picked up 1,627 points from his 828 Premier League games. In third place is current Everton boss David Moyes – he has picked up 1,067 points from 749 games.
In fourth position is Harry Redknapp, who from 642 games in charge of five different clubs, accumulated 878 points. Three points behind him, but closing the gap, is none other than Pep Guardiola in fifth. The Spaniard has won six Premier League titles with Manchester City and will likely climb to fourth on the list this season, despite only having managed 375 Premier League games. José Mourinho is sixth with 735 points from 363 games, and is followed by Jürgen Klopp in seventh – the German picked up 705 points from 334 matches.

Sam Allardyce (680 points), Rafael Benítez (605 points) and Mark Hughes (601 points) complete the top 10. There are then two other currently active Premier League bosses in the top 20: Newcastle’s Eddie Howe is 15th with 494 points from 364 games, whilst Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is 17th, having taken 480 points from 242 matches.
