It wasn’t a vintage English Premier League season by any stretch of the imagination but Arsenal supporters won’t care one iota as they were crowned champions for the first time in 22 years. Mikel Arteta’s side were unquestionably the best side in England as they fought off competition from Manchester City in Pep Guardiola’s final season in charge of the Citizens. Liverpool’s abysmal defence of their crown resulted in Arne Slot being sacked while Michael Carrick transformed Manchester United’s fortunes to secure Champions League qualification.

On Wednesday, Transfermarkt released the final Premier League market value update of the season with 524 players receiving alterations to their valuations. The English top-flight remains the most valuable league in the world at €12.37 billion. Erling Haaland remained the most valuable player at €200m, while William Saliba became the joint-most valuable centre-back in the world at €100m. In terms of squad value, Bournemouth were the biggest winners and Tottenham the biggest losers and all 20 clubs have now been updated.

The most valuable Premier League squads ranked

Manchester City remain the most valuable squad in the Premier League at €1.32b. Their squad value increased slightly by €6m after the update with Rayan Cherki receiving a substantial upgrade. Arsenal’s overall squad value increased by €16m as a result of several players enjoying excellent ends to the season but they are still slightly behind Man City at €1.25b. Chelsea received the second biggest downgrade of any club (-€49m) but they still rank third at €1.12b.

As the graphic above illustrates, no other squad value exceeds €1b with Liverpool (€940m) and Man United (€749m) completing the top five. Interestingly, Newcastle United rank sixth despite a disappointing campaign with Tottenham’s overall value dropping by €110m. Bournemouth received the biggest overall upgrade by €59m to rise to 9th position with West Ham in 16th despite their relegation to the English Championship.
