Four Premier League destinations for Real Madrid's Eduardo Camavinga

At 23, Eduardo Camavinga is already an incredibly decorated footballer but his future at Real Madrid is in the balance ahead of the summer transfer window. The midfielder has already won two Champions Leagues and two LaLiga titles at Real Madrid and he will be aiming to add the World Cup to his impressive CV this summer. Camavinga has dazzled at times since moving to Madrid from Rennes for €31 million in 2021 but Florentino Pérez is willing to sell him this summer, according to various reputable Spanish outlets.

It’s claimed that Madrid will entertain offers of around €50 million as they aim to raise funds to revamp their squad this summer. The French international isn’t a guaranteed starter at the Madrid giants and he’s only made 12 starts in LaLiga this season. The reported €50m price tag – which is in line with his market value on Transfermarkt – will undoubtedly attract potential suitors. It’s not an unrealistic demand with several Premier League sides strongly linked and we’ve analysed four potential destinations for Camavinga.

Manchester United

United will be in the market for two central midfielders this summer with Casemiro departing and Manuel Ugarte likely to be sold. Camavinga would be a brilliant option for United and would fit the recruitment policy of INEOS of prioritising younger talent. His experience of playing at the highest level would also boost United ahead of the impending return to Champions League football and he could form a strong partnership with Kobbie Mainoo.

Liverpool

Liverpool have been strongly linked with Camavinga and wouldn’t be deterred by his reported €50m price tag. The Merseyside club have several top-class midfielders in Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai but Camavinga would strengthen their options. There’s also been significant interest in Curtis Jones and Liverpool could look to the Real Madrid star as his replacement.

Manchester City

Man City’s deficiencies in centre midfield were exposed in their 3-0 defeat to Real Madrid in their Champions League last 16 clash last week. City need another deep-lying midfielder and there’s also doubts over Rodri’s long-term future with the former Ballon d’Or winner linked with Madrid. City have an abundance of attacking midfielders but with Mateo Kovačić likely to depart, Camavinga would be an excellent replacement.

Chelsea

Chelsea’s recruitment policy of signing young players is well-documented but there’s a growing frustration about a lack of experience in the squad – Camavinga would tick both boxes. The Blues are well-stocked for central midfielders with Moisés Caicedo and Enzo Fernández both world-class players while Andrey Santos and Romeo Lavia are gifted talents. Therefore, Camavinga isn’t as needed at Chelsea as much as the aforementioned three clubs but they have been linked in the media.
