Mohamed Salah will bring down the curtain on his phenomenal Liverpool career at the end of the season. Earlier this week, Salah confirmed his impending exit in an emotional post, expressing his love for the iconic football club. The Egyptian King’s attacking numbers are exceptional across his nine year spell at Anfield and he’s indisputably one of Liverpool’s greatest ever players. Salah is Liverpool’s third highest scorer in the Merseyside club’s illustrious history and no player has more goal contributions for a Premier League club than the 33-year-old.

The final games of the campaign will allow Liverpool supporters to bid farewell to their hero and Salah will hope his final appearance in the famous red shirt arrives in the Champions League final in Budapest. Attention will naturally switch to where the winger will continue his football journey and his agent Ramy Abbas Issa confirmed that no decision had been made. “We do not know where Mohamed will play next season,” he posted on X. “This also means that no one else knows.” With his next destination still unknown, we’ve examined where Salah could be playing next season!

Four transfer destinations for Mohamed Salah

Saudi Pro League

It’s understood that Saudi Arabia remains Salah’s likeliest destination. It’s no secret that Saudi Pro League chiefs have attempted to convince the Liverpool star to move to the Middle East. Salah was heavily linked with the most to the Saudi Pro League last season before he committed his future to Liverpool. That interest, however, remains and Salah would represent a high-profile addition and he’d be offered an eye-watering wage.

MLS
Salah has been heavily linked with a move to the MLS, but it would require a substantial financial offer to lure him to the United States. Sir Mohamed Monsour’s presence as lead owner at San Diego has sparked speculation that the respected British-Egyptian businessman could aim to sign his fellow countryman. The MLS is aiming to grow substantially off the back of the World Cup this summer and Salah would raise the profile of the league.

Inter Milan

Salah could wish to continue his career at the highest level and there’s no reason why he can’t. If he was to remain in a top five league then Italy would represent the best destination as the attacker could thrive with the slower style of football. Inter Milan would represent a prestigious club for Salah to continue at a high level and he enjoyed his time in Italy at Roma.

Galatasaray

Salah was previously linked with joining Galatasaray and it would allow him to keep playing in the Champions League, while competing for domestic titles. Gala has pushed the boat out in terms of wages to attract high-profile players in recent years, like Victor Osimhen and Leroy Sané. It’s unclear whether Salah would be interested in a move to the Süper Lig but Gala are clearly ambitious.
