Barcelona sealed this season’s LaLiga title on May 10 with a 2-0 El Clásico win over Real Madrid, but this Sunday, they tumbled more record books. In their final home game of the season, Barca beat Real Betis 3-1 thanks to a Raphinha brace and a João Cancelo goal, and it meant that, incredibly, they have now won all of their 19 home LaLiga games this term. That’s 57 points from 19 matches. That’s 57 goals scored, 10 conceded. Zero losses, zero draws.

In doing so, Hansi Flick’s team became just the second team to achieve a 100% home win record in the top five leagues (LaLiga, Premier League, Serie A, Ligue 1, Bundesliga) since the 1992/93 campaign. Interestingly, Barcelona have actually played their home games at three stadiums this season due to construction work at their famous Camp Nou, where they only began playing again last November. But what are the other best home seasons we have witnessed in Europe’s top divisions over the past few decades? Let’s find out.

Best home seasons in the top five leagues

Barcelona this term do take top spot for the best ever home season in the top five leagues on goal difference. With 57 points and a +47 goal difference, it can’t be matched. The only other team to achieve a 100% win record at home was Juventus at the Allianz Stadium in the 2013/14 season under Antonio Conte. However, they had just a +38 goal difference that term.

There has then been a further nine teams who have taken 55 points from a possible 57 at home, therefore winning 18 matches and drawing one. Barcelona achieved this twice, in the 2012/13 and 2009/10 seasons. Manchester City, Real Madrid, Juventus, Chelsea, Manchester United, AC Milan and Liverpool have also achieved 55 point home seasons since the 1992/93 campaign.
