After the Bundesliga and Serie A, Ligue 1 becomes the third of the top five leagues to receive a market value update ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Altogether, 463 players competing in the French first division received new market values. Following the update, three players from Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain share first place: forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and the midfield duo of João Neves and Vitinha. While Vitinha and Neves make a €30m jump from €110m to €140m, Kvaratskhelia saw his market value improve by €50m from €90m to €140m.

Ligue 1: All new market values at a glance

“There’s no denying the impact the Georgian has had on PSG games at the biggest stage,” Transfermarkt Area Manager France, Ronan Caroff, said. “Often kept under wraps in Ligue 1, where he played just three games over the full 90 minutes, he has been stellar in the Champions League. He has scored 10 goals and six assists on the way to the Champions League final. That’s the same amount of goal contributions as Kylian Mbappé (15 goals and one assist) and Harry Kane (14 goals and two assists). Then, in the final, Kvaratskhelia collected another assist on the foul that secured PSG the equalizing penalty. The market value increase of €50m puts him in the same category as Bayern’s Michael Olise (+€10m to €150m), placing him among the world’s elite footballers.

Also among the very elite is PSG’s midfield duo of Neves and Vitinha. “You can’t name the one without mentioning the other,” Caroff said. “The entire 2025/26 season, their market values have mirrored one another. They started the season with a market value of €80m, rose to €90m in October, €110m in the winter, and now have hit €140m ahead of the World Cup, where they will also be important players for their country, Portugal. While Neves never fails to amaze with goal contributions at key moments, such as his header in the semifinals against Bayern, Vitinha is equally fascinating in how he controls the midfield.

PSG market values: Doué also among winners – Five players valued at €100m or more

Another PSG player with a significant market value update is Désiré Doué. “After the second half of the 2025 season was cut short by two injuries, Doué can finally show his talent on a consistent basis again,” Caroff said. “Whether it is with the French national team or PSG, he is barely missing games now. He has scored regularly in the Champions League and Ligue 1. Given the fact that his teammates saw significant market value updates, it made sense to also adjust Doué upwards.” The 20-year-old forward saw his market value upgraded by €30m from €90m to €120m.

Altogether, the back-to-back Champions League winners now have five players with a market value of €100m or higher. “It makes sense to see them rise to the position of the most valuable squad on Transfermarkt,” Caroff said. “Unlike some rivals like Real Madrid or Man City, who have players around the €200m range, PSG have far more density among top players. Altogether, the team saw its squad value increase by €150m.”

That rise in market value wasn’t just driven by the already-mentioned players. Among the top stars, Nuno Mendes (+€5m to €80m), Willian Pacho (+€10m to €80m), Warren Zaïre-Emery (+€20m to €80m) and Matvey Safonov (+€8m to €30m) also saw their market values increase significantly. Those upgrades ensured PSG’s squad value increased significantly, even though some players experienced downgrades. Lucas Chevalier (-€5m to €25m), Ilya Zabarnyi (-€5m to €40m), Marquinhos (-€2m to €28m), Fabián Ruiz (-€10m to €40m) and Gonçalo Ramos (-€5m to €30m) experienced downgrades.

Ligue 1 market values: Endrick on the rise – Barco headed to Chelsea

At Olympique Lyon, Endrick has finally fulfilled the promise that was placed in him when Real Madrid signed him for €47.5m from Palmeiras in 2024. The teenager then struggled initially at Real and, as a result, his market value dropped to €25m. But in France, Endrick has seen his market value increase for the second consecutive time. After a €10m upgrade to €35m earlier this year, Endrick makes another €5m jump to €40m. “He’s found his confidence with eight goals and eight assists in 21 games and was called up to Brazil’s World Cup squad,” Caroff said. “It is unclear whether Real Madrid are still planning with him, but his performances in France may have opened the door for other European clubs to sign him this summer.”

Certainly, RC Strasbourg’s Valentin Barco will be on the move this summer. “It isn’t official yet, but Barco will move on to Strasbourg’s owner, Chelsea, this summer,” Caroff said. “He has been one of the most important players for Strasbourg this season. That was evident when he missed time this spring. Strasbourg won just one of the six games it missed across all competitions in April and May. Now, it’s tough to see how stable a role he will get in Chelsea, but his fighting spirit and influence in the midfield should be greatly appreciated by a team who couldn’t qualify for Europe this season.” Barco saw his market value increase by €5m from €35m to €40m.

Another player who could be headed to the Premier League is Mamadou Sangaré from RC Lens. “The hype around Mamadou Sangaré didn’t die in the last two months of the season,” Caroff said. “He is a crucial player in Lens’ roster, which finished a remarkable season in second place in Ligue 1. That opens the door to the Champions League. Lens also won the first Coupe de France title in club history. Although under contract until 2030, he will have many suitors this summer, and there might be a bidding war between several Premier League clubs.” Sangaré sees his market value increase by €10m from €30m to €40m. But a potential bidding war could see his transfer fee rise significantly above that figure.

Ligue 1 market values: USMNT striker Balogun up – Fernandez-Pardo headed to the World Cup

At Monaco, US men’s national team striker Folarin Balogun is looking back on a strong season. “He has taken Mika Biereth’s spot (-€3m to €15m) and has been a lethal goalscorer,” Caroff said. “Since February, he has been in great form. He was decisive in wins against PSG, Lens, Lyon and Marseille. Although Monaco sometimes struggled as a collective, he has always played well. Playing for one of the host countries at the World Cup, and the fact that Monaco are only in the Conference League, means that he could explore the market this summer.” As a result, Balogun’s market value increased by €10m from €30m to €40m.

Also headed to the World Cup, but with Belgium is LOSC Lille star striker Matias Fernandez-Pardo. “The potential has been known for some time,” Caroff said about the forward whose market value increased by €5m from €30m to €35m. “First used as a winger, an injury to Hamza Igamane (€18m) and the lack of form of the aging Olivier Giroud (-€100,000 to €900,000) saw him move to the center. Since March, he has scored five goals and two assists and helped his team stay undefeated from the start of February to mid-May. Former Lille coach Rudi Garcia has now selected him to Belgium’s World Cup squad, and with Romelu Lukaku named as the only other forward, there is a good chance that we might see MFP gain significant minutes in North America.”

How Transfermarkt market values work

The Transfermarkt market values are calculated, taking into account various pricing models. A major factor is the Transfermarkt community, whose members discuss and evaluate player market values in detail. In general, the Transfermarkt market values are not to be equated with transfer fees.

The goal is not to predict a price but an expected value of a player in a free market. Both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant in determining market values. Examples of this are listed below. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (you can find the detailed market value definition here).
