The January transfer market is now officially open, with clubs across Europe looking to get deals over the line to enhance their squads for the second half of the season. Teams are already working tirelessly behind the scenes on identifying targets to sign or loan.

Managers will be constantly assessing their squads with sporting directors and recruitment staff scanning the market for potential deals in the market. A plethora of players will be unhappy with their lack of minutes, with their agents aiming to secure them a move to ensure first-team football for the second half of the season. AC Milan will reportedly make a formal approach to sign Marcus Rashford on loan. The Manchester United attacker’s representatives have held discussions with several clubs and it’s understood they will hold talks with the Old Trafford hierarchy imminently to discuss his preferred destination.

Liverpool have reportedly knocked back an initial bid of around €80 million for Darwin Núñez. Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal want to sign the attacker this month but Anfield chiefs are confident of securing a fee of around €100m this month.

According to reports in Spain, Real Madrid are weighing up a move for Savinho. The winger excelled in LaLiga last season for Girona but he’s failed to impress since joining Manchester City last summer.
