It’s not been a vintage year in the world of football but 2025 has undeniably thrown up some fascinating storylines and thrilling fixtures. PSG won the Champions League for the first time in their history after the French giant’s decade-long quest to win the ultimate trophy in club football. Liverpool equalled Manchester United’s record of most English top-flight titles with 20 after Arne Slot led the Merseyside club to the Premier League crown.
Normal service resumed in Germany as Bayern Munich regained dominance in the Bundesliga, while Napoli reclaimed the Scudetto to spark incredible celebrations in Naples. The Club World Cup underwent major restructuring and Chelsea emerged victorious in the United States after easing past PSG in the final. Numerous high-profile players enjoyed an incredible year and we’ve analysed which players gained the most market value across 2025.
The biggest market value winners in 2025
Michael Olise was the biggest winner of 2025 with his market value increasing by €65 million across the calendar year to his current valuation of €130m. The French international is now the eighth most valuable player in the world and his attacking output has been impressive for Bayern Munich this season. Nick Woltemade has enjoyed a stratospheric rise across 2025 and he ranks second with his valuation increasing by €62.5m. The German international began the year with a market value of just €7.5m but it has soared to his current valuation of €70m.
